Hélène PlanquetteLEMAR, FranceHélène is a Director of Research at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) within the Laboratory of Marine Environmental Sciences (LEMAR) at the European Institute for Marine Studies (IUEM) in Brest, France. Her research focuses on the distribution and role of trace metals in the ocean, with a focus on the particulate pool of trace metals. Hélène earned her PhD at the National Oceanography Centre in the United Kingdom in 2008. She then undertook postdoctoral research at Rutgers University in the United States and returned to the National Oceanography Centre before joining CNRS in 2013. Within GEOTRACES, she initiated and organized the first summer school that was held at IUEM in 2017, she is serving as the co-chair of the Standard and Intercalibration Committee, and is the representative for France at the SSC. Hélène participated in 6 oceanographic cruises in the North Atlantic, Pacific, and Southern Ocean, including the SWINGS GS02 section which she co-led. |
